This calculator will tell you how much time is needed to properly thaw a turkey in the refrigerator or in cold water. Simply enter the weight of your turkey in pounds and click calculate. For every 4-5 pounds of turkey, you need to allow for 24 hours (1 day) of thawing time in a refrigerator or 30 minutes per pound in cold tap water.
