How can I snack and be healthy at the same time?

We all get hungry in between meals and choosing the right snack to get us through can either make or break our diets. Going the easy way and eating some chips or candy will leave you hungry quickly since these foods are digested faster than some healthy alternatives. They are also loaded with empty calories. Instead, grab a fruit which in addition to sugar has fiber which will keep you full for a longer period of time. Its fine to treat yourself to candy or chocolate but make sure you know what one serving is to prevent overeating. If chocolate is your thing, try dark chocolate which has antioxidants. There are also many healthier junk-type foods. Recently companies started introducing 100 calorie packs of your favorite chips and cookies. While you shouldn't eat a lot of these, no diet can survive if you deprive yourself. Find out what snacks are good for you by visiting the Guide to Healthy Snacking.
