1. Junk food is a very easy way to gain weight. One of the most important steps is to figure out what junk food you eat and either make it healthy or cut it out of your diet.
2. Instead of drinking soda, coffee or a fruit juice high in sugar, try drinking more water. The body uses water for digestion, waste removal, temperature control and a lot more so its crucial to get 8 glasses in every day. Replacing other drinks with water will also help you cut down on empty calories.
3. Fruits and vegetables are very nutrient dense (they are low in calories and high in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants). Eating more can satisfy your craving for something sweet and make you healthier.
4. Once you cut out junk food that is bad for you, find snacks that you can eat in between meals that are healthy (examples: tuna, cottage cheese, frozen or regular yogurt, nuts, fruits)
5. Eating out adds calories a lot faster than you think. Just because the meal is small doesn't mean its low in calories. Try and make more meals at home. The more your practice, the better your food will become.
